Today marks Transgender Day of Remembrance 2020. In memory of trans lives lost to acts of violence, we have decided to release a sneak peek at our short film Birthday Boy.
75% of transgender youth report feeling unsafe at school. Many trans students face bullying from students, but also discrimination from teachers and school administrators.
40% of transgender and non-binary youth say they have been physically threatened or harmed due to their gender identity.
In the past 12 months, at least 350 trans and gender-diverse people have been reported murdered across the globe.*
This needs to stop.
Birthday Boy is an uplifting story positively portraying a transgender boy as he overcomes bullying at an all-girls school.
The crew of Birthday Boy predominantly identify as LGBTQ+ and the cast includes a number of transgender actors.
The film will feature the song Daughter by award winning trans artist Ryan Cassata.
Birthday Boy will be released in 2021.
